Happy Halloween

Will’s FAVORITE thing is safety cones right now.  He can spot them a mile away.  He always wants to stop and touch them too!  We’ve got several at home to play with.  So for Halloween this year, I though it would be a great idea for him to BE a cone.  My mom and I spent several hours making the cutest little cone (without a pattern) and I was so excited about it.

Well that TOTALLY backfired.

Will absolutely protested!  He liked to look at it, but wouldn’t DARE let me put it on him.  So…after trying to “convince” him for a couple of weeks, I caved and let him be the little construction worker.  So little brother Max already has a hand-me-down costume.  Max was the construction workers little tag along safety cone.

We had a great night at church playing games and collecting candy, stopping for a hot dog and nachos, then hit a few homes in our neighborhood.  Will did such a good job trick-or-treating.  He knocked on the doors, said thank you and was good about collecting without having to sample/eat each candy treat.

Our Latest Adventures

001

Aren’t they the cutest you’ve ever seen!  Max is 6 months in this pic, Will is 21 months.  They are a hoot!

002

Max was the star of the show for this photo shoot!  He’s such a happy little guy.  Always smiling, patient and LOVES to watch his big brother play.  I’m sure he’s dreaming of the day when he can play with him.

003

I love this family pic!  We are so blessed with these kiddos…they are the light of our lives!

004

Max is a BIG little brother.  Only 5 lbs shy of Will, and already busting into the 18 month clothes!

005

Doesn’t that smile just melt your heart!  I can’t get over it!

Our Boys

IMG_3873

Will thinks that the jumparoo is for him!  He plays in it quite often.

IMG_3890

They sure do love each other…Max loves to watch Will play and now Will is attempting to pick him up.  I can’t wait till the day that I can’t find Max, cause Will has carried him somewhere!

IMG_3891

Will even thinks that they should both be able to play in the jumparoo.

IMG_3907

I think that Max will get to eat lots of things before he really should.  Here Will is trying to feed him an apple…he was actually successful at it!

Happy 4th of July!

It’s good to have friends at the lake!!!  My best friend Jennifer’s family has always had a boat and I started going to the lake with her back in college.  If you can believe it, I could actually ski at one time, even go outside the wake!  I wouldn’t even attempt now!  Anyway, thankfully she and her family were gracious enough to invite all of us down for the fourth.  We had a BLAST, and Mark and I forgot how much we LOVED the lake…we really miss it!  The boys were great, slept well and played well and they both loved the water!

We learned that Will can climb out of the pack-n-play, so had to switch him to the peapod (baby tent sleeper) we had borrowed from our wonderful neighbors.  He did good in that and Max did great in the pack-n-play.

IMG_3833Everytime we got on the boat, Max fell fast asleep – what a cutie!

IMG_3837Will was such a little explorer as always…checking out every part of the boat, dock and lake house!

IMG_3840

IMG_3847Will even got to help drive the boat!  Thanks Mr. Jason!

IMG_3859I was watching Max up at the house and missed the afternoon that Will played in the lake forever…so no picks from that, but I did manage to get this shot, though he doesn’t look to happy!

IMG_3872

Maybe next year the Crouch’s will let us come again!  I’m sure they’ll need a whole year to rest up from our adventures and craziness!

Max is 4 Months Already…

IMG_3877He’s is so big and getting bigger everyday. His 4 month checkup revealed that he’s in the 95th percentile for weight at 17 lbs and 5 oz, and 65th percentile for height at 25 3/4 inches. He’s exactly the opposite of Will at the same age…Will’s always 95th in height and 65th in weight!

IMG_3884He’s smiles all the time…just look his way and he lights up – what a sweetie!

IMG_3896Milk just didn’t seem to satisfy him long enough anymore so we started solids a couple of weeks ago. He’s a champ. Not shy at all about finishing his helping. He’s eating apples, pears, sweet potatoes and cereal and loving every bite!

IMG_3897

IMG_3911Max has discovered his feet and loves to play with them..ALL THE TIME! He’s already growing up so fast. He’s been rolling from tummy to back since he was 2 1/2 months old, and it won’t be long till he’s rolling the other direction too. He’s already trying to tri-pod sit a little too. I can’t wait till he and Will can play together!

Will–18 mo, Max–3 mo

Here are the pics I had taken early in June to record Will at 18 months and Max at 3 months.  It was fun to compare Will’s 3 month pic to Max’s.  They are for sure brothers!

001

002This is the best pic we could get of them together…Will is so busy, he just couldn’t sit still!

June 2011

We’re deep in the throws of summer now with lots to do.  Strawberry picking, birthdays, road trips and everyday fun keeps us busy.  Will is now 19 months and Max almost 4 months.  Both are growing up so fast.  Will is our little explorer and Max our little smiley man…just smiles if you even look at him.  Every day Mama grows more in love with both of them.

IMG_3658Will totally LOVED the strawberry patch…he just explored and ate and ate and ate.  He was totally covered in juice and cute as a button.

IMG_3660Here’s Eve with Will…boy have we loved having her around this summer.  It’s hard to believe that she was 3 when I started babysitting her and now she’s all grown up… ready to start her career and everything.

IMG_3661We made 2 of Aunt Judy’s strawberry pies with all our pickings, plus had strawberry and angel food cake too!

IMG_3665Max was such a trooper while we picked…just patiently hung out in the stroller while we roamed around the patch.

IMG_3668We are so proud of our little Will…he’s learning to foot pedal his little trike.  We even took out all the gates so he could go round and round.  It won’t be long till we have to put them all back up when Max is mobile!

IMG_3706Papa came for a much anticipated visit.  Will can’t get enough of him.  He calls him Papa in a whispered voice…like he’s so precious you can’t even say it out loud…needless to say it drives Grandmother crazy!

IMG_3708One of my favs of Dada and Max both decked out in their Cardinals gear.

IMG_3725Will wants to be just like Dada..big shoes to fill!

IMG_3743Happy Birthday to Mama.  We had a great day all around.  Our neighbor Karen made us a delicious lunch and then made red velvet cupcakes for dessert that evening after a pizza party!  I’m not mentioned which birthday this was…I’m not counting anymore!

IMG_3749Grandmother and our little smiley man!

IMG_3750Aunt Jennifer says this borders on child abuse!  I think it’s funny.  Our niece Abbi came for a week and she tried all kinds of stuff and played so well with the boys (still can’t believe that’s plural now…we have kid”s”).  I don’t think Max liked the Pippi Longstocking getup!

IMG_3772A weekend trip to Grandmother and Papa’s house proved eventful…big barbeque, homemade ice cream and tractor rides were some of the fun.  Sure glad Papa shared his little tractor with Will to play with….he said he’s outgrown it anyway.  Can’t wait to get one for the boys!

IMG_3793What a little cutie!

So that wraps up most of the month.  Max can roll over from tummy to back and won’t be long till he goes the other direction too.  He’s also doing a little tripod sittings and drooling all the time.  We can’t wait to see that first tooth come in.  He’ll start solid foods in a week or so and I’m sure he’ll love it…cause the milk just doesn’t seem to be enough anymore.  Will is very vocal…sometimes it even sounds like Chinese to us!  He’s got a vocabulary of over 40 words and learning new ones every day!

Catching Up Some More...

So as I sit in the hospital with Max (he's our second born - 5.5 weeks old with a terrible cough that they are monitoring) I thought I'd do some catching up...seems I can't find the time to do so around the house these days!

It's been since Will was 8 month's old (actually a post about his first little cold - and now both of my boys have one - ain't that wierd) that I've posted anything about our lives! So we'll start there.

Will is now 16 months old and full of vigor to say the least. He's everywhere and into everything before I can blink an eye...keeping me on my toes! He started crawling at 9 months and loved it so much that he didn't start walking till he was 13 months old - New Year's to be exact! He's saying all kinds of things now, like "ma" for milk and "ma" for Emma (Papa's dog), up, bubble, dada, mama, ball, "bla" for blocks and more that I can't remember right now. He's as cute as a button of course. We threw a blow out party for his birthday...cowboy themed and he got his very own wooden rocking horse which he loves to rock and use as a ladder. He likes to throw his food (like any good 16 month old I hear), climb the dining chairs and sit on the table, climb the stairs all by himself, play outside and be chased around the house.

What else has been going on for us...well let's see - we've had another kiddo in the meantime! Who knew we would have a housefull of kiddos - but we're well on our way now. When Will was a mere 7 months old, we found out we were expecting another little bundle of joy. All those years trying, we didn't think we could even get pregnant...well here we are...BOGO!

Max Stephen Crisp was born March 3, 2011 at 7:52 in the morning, weighing in at 8 lbs even (just like big brother Will) and measuring 20.5 inches long. Happy and healthy! He's a cutie and looks a lot like big brother Will too. We are so happy to have him, but boy did we forget about all those sleepless nights and what it was like to have a newborn. I think God designs it that way...so we'll have more! He's such a good baby and pretty easy going like his Daddy. Will loves him too, he was a little apprehensive at first, but was warmed up a lot. He likes to give him kisses, pull his ears, poke his eyes and steal his socks and paci!

So that's it in a nutshell which brings us up to date without too many gory details. So what are we up to now. I sit in a hospital room with Max and Daddy and Grandmother are on Will duty! Will caught a viral bug last week, had a chest xray, nasal swab the whole bit and ended up on a steroid to clear up a cough. Max then must have caught it, but his little body just can't tackle the virus as easy as an older baby. Not much they can do in the hospital but poke, prod and watch him, but at least if his oxygen levels go down, we'll be ready! Mama and Daddy are getting the bug too, but you know we don't make the news lately!
