So...4 months and a few days ago I looked like this:
Now mind you - I look so chipper cause that was only the beginning of the long wait ahead!!!
I was a week past my due date and they figured (who knows why) we'd have a pretty big guy, so induction was scheduled. I arrived at the hospital late evening on Wednesday to begin the meds. By Thursday afternoon they had me on the highest setting of Pitosin possible and he wasn't budging. The docs decided to break my water to get the ball rolling a little faster - what they didn't know was that Will had a mind of his own. By the wee hours of Friday morning I had some mild contractions but still had not progressed as expected...by 7 am my cervix had started to swell and it looked that the last option was c-section. Luckily we got in just before some triplets were to be delivered - otherwise I would have had to wait till late afternoon on Friday...ugghh.
At 9:11 am on Friday, December 4, 2009, we welcomed (with Christmas carols playing in the background) Willam Ramon. Not the ideal delivery - but I have to say - no matter how he arrived - it was a blessing!
He's here FINALLY, happy and healthy! Praise God - from whom all blessings flow.
As you may know - we waited a LOOONNNNGGG time for our little guy - struggling with infertility as many couples do these days. With the help of amazing doctors, science and God's transforming grace we were blessed with a handsome and happy little boy.
Mark and I were blessed with wonderful grandparents and wanted to honor them in naming our little one. Too bad we couldn't give him all 8 names, but we settled on both our maternal grandfathers. We think it's a perfect fit!

We brought Will home on December 8, 2009...just Mama, Daddy and Will. Honestly I was scared to death...the nurses were so GREAT in the hospital and I had prepared and prepared for this moment, but when the moment arrived, I found out quick that I didn't know a thing! Not long though, and with the help of Grandmother, friends from church, and neighbors, my mother's intution kicked in! Whew...I thought I was going to lose it a couple of times. Try going from a type A, control freak to bringing a newborn home!

We had lots of visitors those first couple of weeks and Grandmother came to stay for a whole week! Yeah. We had newborn photos taken, started to get the hang of nursing (I say 'we' here cause literally it took all three of us in the beginning - nursing wasn't as picturesque as I had envisioned), and fell more madly in love each day with our little bundle. Mama also fell in love with Daddy all over again. Daddy was so loving, patient and helpful those first few days and weeks - and still is of course! Our family was born!
